Functional Diagnosis
The foundation of precise and functionally based treatment.
Functional diagnosis is a comprehensive assessment of the stomatognathic system that allows us to evaluate the condition of the teeth, bite and occlusion, as well as the function of the masticatory muscles and temporomandibular joints (TMJ).
It is particularly important when planning complex oral rehabilitation, orthodontic, implantological and comprehensive dental treatments.
Functional diagnosis helps identify functional disorders, pathological overload and risk factors, refine the diagnosis and establish an individualized treatment plan.
Advanced Functional Analysis
In complex clinical cases, an advanced functional analysis is performed. Depending on the clinical indications, it may include recording mandibular movements, instrumental analysis of TMJ function, intraoral examinations and other digital methods.
This allows us to assess in greater detail the interaction between the teeth, joints and masticatory muscles and to obtain additional information for treatment planning.
Functional diagnosis allows us to:
✔️ Comprehensively assess the function of the stomatognathic system
✔️ Identify functional disorders and pathological overload
✔️ Determine potential risk factors
✔️ Develop a well-founded treatment plan for oral rehabilitation, orthodontic, implantological or comprehensive treatment
✔️ Improve the predictability and functional stability of the outcome
✔️ Reduce the risk of overload affecting the teeth, joints, restorations and prosthetic structures
At Dental Deluxe, the aim of functional diagnosis is to plan treatment while taking into account the function of the entire stomatognathic system and each patient’s individual characteristics.
